Counting steps for charity
June 15, 2021Last week, we were delighted to participate in a great fundraiser organized by our parent company, Solid State plc. Employees across the group were challenged to walk, jog or run for an hour and contribute steps towards a grand total, raising money for the Children’s Society.
You can see pictures of our progress (and some stunning local scenery) on our LinkedIn page. We were blessed with warm, dry weather and the team took up the challenge with partners, children and dogs getting involved too!
Overall, the Solid State group walked over 1.9m steps and raised more than £3,500 which the company have pledged to match with a further donation, making an awesome total of over £7,000.
The Children’s Society is a UK charity that runs local services to support children and young people who feel scared, unloved and unable to cope. They work with politicians, policy makers and other organisations to come together and help tackle issues including abuse, exploitation and neglect. Solid State have been supporting this worthy cause for a number of years and we’re proud to add our strength to this support as well.
