Headwall acquires inno-spec GmbH to advance hyperspectral imaging
The American spectral imaging solutions provider, Headwall, has announced the acquisition of inno-spec, a German manufacturer of industrial hyperspectral imaging systems. Headwall was itself acquired by Arsenal Capital Partners in 2022 and this deal will make Headwall’s third take-over since then.
The acquisition is designed to drive the development of more advanced, efficient and versatile hyperspectral imaging systems for the machine vision sector, and beyond. Mark Willingham, CEO of Headwall Photonics confirmed that “…we aim to enhance our offerings and extend our global reach, especially in the rapidly evolving sector of industrial machine vision.” Oliver Grass, founder and CEO of inno-spec, responded that “Joining forces with Headwall Photonics represents a tremendous opportunity for inno-spec to scale our technology and tap into new markets”.
As hyperspectral imaging is adopted in more and more applications, this latest market move supports the trend that Industry 4.0 practices and smarter production lines are progressing steadily.
