CoaXPress / GigE / USB3 – free webcast about the benefits and applications of three major camera interfaces in Machine Vision – by Imaging and Machine Vision Europe (IMVE).
Max Larin (Ximea), John Phillips (Pleora) and Chris Beynon (Active Silicon), also the co-author of the CoaXPress standard, present key features, application scenarios and an insight into upcoming performance enhancements of the global interface standards for industrial cameras.
While CoaXPress exceeds by far the maximum bandwidth and cable length of Camera Link, it remains as easy to use as the consumer interfaces USB 3.0 and GigE. This is particularly useful for OEMs and system integrators, whose software platforms utilize the GenICam standard already. CoaXPress users additionally benefit from the real-time control and data transmission between camera and frame grabber. With a wide variety of cameras, frame grabbers and cable suppliers supporting the standard, customers can choose the right solution from low-end / low-cost equipment up to high-speed cameras delivering as much as 25 Gbps, while benefiting from high-flex cables – particularly useful in robotic/motion applications. The roadmap to version 2.0 of the standard gives even greater speeds and many additional benefits.
