Exosens, the French manufacturer of high‐end electro‐optical technologies, has signed an agreement to acquire Phasics, a provider of optics metrology and imaging solutions, also headquartered in France.

This acquisition will enhance Exosens’ technological product portfolio, expanding its offering in high performance imaging solutions for defense, industrial control and life science. Other brands in the group include Photonis, Xenics and Noxant. Jérôme Cerisier, Exosens CEO, stated that “Leveraging both Phasics and Exosens expertise will allow us to consolidate our position in applications such as optical microscopy and free space optics”.

Phasics is a leader in wavefront sensing technology and supports fields including laser control, optics testing and microscopy imaging. Its patented technology offers ultra-high resolution, high sensitivity (sub-nanometric), and a wide dynamic range (hundreds of microns). CEO Marie-Begona Lebrun confirmed that “Exosens’ support should provide us capabilities to scale up and to extend our geographical global reach while reinforcing our global offer to our customers.”

Exosens has 11 production and R&D sites in Europe and North America, and over 1,800 employees. Phasics posted revenue in 2024 of €8.5m and employs 40 staff. Financial details have not been disclosed.
