VISION restored

Active Silicon CTO presenting at VISION 2021

Over 5,000 computer vision specialists flocked to Messe Stuttgart last week to welcome VISION back to the live event circuit. Among them, our CTO Chris Beynon delivered an informative update on the CoaXPress machine vision standard.

For many attendees, this was their first business trip in 18 months. While the geographical scope of the audience may have been more limited than previous years, the innovation on show definitely wasn’t. Demos suggested that AI and robotic solutions are readily available for implementation in vision systems. 3D vision is continuing to advance inspection technologies and demand for smaller, faster vision processing is, of course, driving developments in camera and embedded vision solutions.

The VISION Award was presented to Prophesee for their event-based vision technology which combines AI-based processing to capture a scene faster and more efficiently than conventional sensors. Other shortlisted companies were recognized for innovations in industrial inspection and quality assurance in the automotive sector.

Dates have been confirmed for next year as the VISION show returns to its usual biennial calendar, and will take place on 4-6 October. We expect the 2022 event to attract a more international visitor base as hopefully restrictions enforced by the pandemic will be further eased.  Our team look forward to seeing you in Stuttgart next year, but don’t wait if you have a vision challenge that needs solving – view our products and custom design services online and get in touch today!
