In yet another acquisition in our sector, Exosens announced last week that it has entered into exclusive negotiations to acquire Noxant.

Exosens, headquartered in Mérignac-Palaiseau, France, is a provider of high-end electro-optical technologies for defense and industrial applications. Its product range includes advanced imaging cameras, electron, ion, neutron and gamma detectors, microwave amplifiers and image intensifier tubes. Detection and imaging solutions offer UV to LWIR products and its brands include Telops, Photonis and Xenics.

Noxant, also based in France, designs and develops vision solutions for industrial and surveillance applications, with a specialism in high performance cooled infrared cameras operating at mid-infrared wavelengths.

Jérôme Cerisier, Exosens CEO, commented that “the synergies between Noxant and Telops would strengthen our R&D capabilities and accelerate our innovation in infrared technologies.”

Noxant Chairman, Laurent Dague, believes that “Joining forces with Exosens… would be a perfect match enabling us to continue delivering advanced cooled infrared technology to our customers while benefiting from Exosens’ vast resources and expertise and a larger GoToMarket.”

The negotiations are subject to completion of the consultation of Noxant’s employees’ representative body and the usual clearances and approvals. Following these, the deal would be finalized in the next few months.
