3D time-of-flight camera specialist acquired by American corporation Rockwell Automation

Rockwell Automation, Inc. with headquarters in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, has announced the acquisition of the Scottish company Odos Imaging earlier this month.

Rockwell Automation, a major international player in the industrial automation sector, employs around 22,000 people world-wide. According to Rockwell’s vice-president Lee Lane, the acquisition allows Rockwell to build further on their portfolio of smart sensing and safety products and brings 3D time-of-flight sensor technology to industrial applications.

Odos Imaging based in Edinburgh, specialises in the development and manufacture of advanced cameras for science and industry with core technologies in 3D time-of-flight. Ritchie Logan, Strategic Business Development Manager, commented that Odos Imaging is delighted with the acquisition and the commitment from Rockwell Automation to their products and technology. Odos Imaging will continue to market their current portfolio of 3D cameras.
