Atlas Copco, a Swedish global provider of sustainable productivity solutions, has acquired German systems integrator, VisionTools. The industrial imaging specialist will become part of Atlas Copco’s Motor Vehicle Industry Tools and Assembly Systems division within the Industrial Technique Business Area, but will continue to operate as an independent unit.

VisionTools, headquartered in Waghäusel with around 80 employees, develops and sells smart, integrated quality control solutions primarily aimed at the automotive industry. In 2023, revenue was recorded as approximately €14 million.

In contrast, Stockholm-based Atlas Copco has around 53,000 employees, a global portfolio of over 70 brands and posted revenue of almost €15 billion in 2023. Henrik Elmin, Business Area President for Industrial Technique, commented on the acquisition, “With this acquisition we further create value for our customers by enhancing our smart integrated assembly offering to the automotive industry”.

The financial details of the deal have not been disclosed.
