Basler AG acquires Silicon Software GmbH

Basler AG acquires Silicon Software GmbH

Proving that M&A is still rife in the machine vision sector, last week saw the acquisition of 100% of Silicon Software’s shares by fellow German company, Basler. The camera manufacturer will now be able to offer an extended machine vision portfolio with Silicon Software’s hardware and software products. Financial details were not disclosed, but the leading figures of Silicon Software, Dr. Klaus-Henning Noffz and Dr. Ralf Lay, are set to stay with the organization.

Following on from other alliances, Active Silicon now remains as one of the very few independent vision hardware manufacturers. We continue to offer our frame grabbers, camera interface boards and embedded solutions through a network of international distributors, ensuring compatibility with an array of cameras and systems. We remain a neutral, agile and innovative partner for a fast-moving marketplace.
