Happy New Year!
New Year greetings to all our customers and partners! We’re thrilled to get started on the year ahead, and are looking forward to solving your vision challenges.
2025 is particularly exciting for us as we start the year with not one, not two, but three new products. During last year we launched:
Oncilla Machine Vision Computers – CoaXPress, Camera Link and Mini versions launched in December, look out for more variations joining the product catalog in the first half of this year.
The FireBird CoaXPress over Fiber frame grabber transmits data over fiber optic cables while benefitting from the high-speed reliability of CoaXPress. 2025 will see a data forwarding version of this board released too.
FireBird Single and Dual CXP-12 low profile frame grabbers offering cost-effective imaging in a compact and powerful acquisition card. At the other end of the scale, we’re currently working on our Octo version of this frame grabber so keep an eye out for our most powerful FireBird yet!
Looking ahead for 2025
What do we see in the year ahead? The numerous acquisitions seen in the machine vision industry in the last half of 2024 illustrate the rapidly changing landscape. As computer vision becomes an everyday tool in the AI toolbox of large organisations, we can expect to see more specialist manufacturers being swallowed up by larger multinationals looking to shore up their capabilities.
At the same time, maintaining a global presence for these large organisations will not be without challenges. Geopolitical elements will have a huge influence in the production and supply of key components and we’ve already seen some big names take some severe hits.
The ability to remain agile will be essential throughout 2025 and at Active Silicon, and the wider Solid State plc group, we’re fortunate to be able to react quickly and effectively to changes in requirements, shifts in market focus and demands for faster, more efficient processing power.
