Active Silicon Expands Harrier Range with Two New Global Shutter Cameras

Active Silicon has expanded its Harrier autofocus-zoom camera range with new 10x and 30x global shutter models, providing flexible and compact imaging solutions for capturing fast-moving subjects without the distortion associated with rolling shutter sensors.

Both cameras combine a 3MP Sony Pregius S global shutter CMOS sensor with real-time Full HD video output at up to 1080p60. These cameras support precise image acquisition in applications including UAVs, ROVs, industrial inspection, robotics, transport, and remote monitoring.

The Harrier 10x and 30x AF-Zoom Cameras give system designers a choice of optical-zoom range to suit their imaging requirements. Both feature day & night operation, digital image stabilization, noise reduction, and other benefits, allowing engineers to select the field of view and level of magnification best matched to their application.

The native video output format of the cameras is LVDS and CVBS, but the product range has been extended to include cameras with USB 3, HDMI, and Ethernet IP video output. This is achieved by tightly integrating a Harrier Camera Interface Board to make a pre-assembled and tested camera product with the desired video output. The range of available video formats and camera control interfaces enables straightforward integration into new and existing vision systems.
