New Vision Solution for Automation in Food Production and Sorting.

Machine Vision is becoming an increasingly important subject in the huge global photonics market as cameras and image processing systems are becoming increasingly powerful.

Visit our partner’s booth, Laser 2000 (B3.103), to experience a highly advanced machine vision system based on a high-speed color line scan camera from JAI (Sweep+ SW-2000Q-CL-80) and our Camera Link 80-bit (Deca) frame grabber FireBird FBD-1xCLD-2PE4. Color line scan applications are especially relevant for quality inspection and sorting of fruit, vegetables and pastries, as well as raw materials and waste for recycling purposes.

The camera from JAI features 4 CMOS line scan sensors behind a prism for maximum sensitivity and color reproduction. A near infra-red (NIR) channel makes it possible to capture NIR simultaneously with the RGB light spectrum. With its 80-bit (Deca) configuration the camera offers the highest-possible bandwidth available with the globally adopted and field-proven Camera Link interface.

Active Silicon’s frame grabber is specially designed for this interface with proven long term reliability. While our full-height PC model is utilized in this demo, the same functionality and features are available from our low-profile frame grabbers for embedded PCs and 2U rackmount chassis, which are also showcased at the booth.

Please get in touch with Laser 2000’s machine vision consultants on-site or – if you can’t make it to the Munich trade fair – find all the details about the demonstrated frame grabber here: https://www.activesilicon.com/products/firebird-camera-link-frame-grabber-1xCLD-2PE4/
