International Vision Standards Meeting – Fall 2024
The Fall IVSM was recently hosted by Baumer in conjunction with the VDMA, at Baumer’s office in Frauenfeld, Switzerland.
As usual, imaging experts from around the world joined the meetings to progress the standards used in the industry, both the software standard GenICam and the various physical layer standards, and to take part in an interoperability “Plugfest”.
Our CTO, Chris Beynon, chaired the CoaXPress meeting which concentrated on work on the next major v3.0 release. This will merge in the existing CoaXPress over Fiber guideline document into the main specification, and add in 25Gbps cable rates to allow 100G or greater system speeds.
A special treat at the end of the meeting was a demonstration of the power of traditional Swiss Alphorns inside the meeting room!
IVSM Spring 2025 will be held in Quebec City from 28 April to 2 May.
