New: 100 Gbps FireBird CoaXPress over Fiber Frame Grabber
Just launched: the FireBird 1xCOF100G-4PE8 is a high-performance CoaXPress over Fiber frame grabber developed for vision systems requiring greater bandwidth, faster image acquisition and reliable long-distance transmission.
The new frame grabber provides a QSFP28 port supporting data rates up to 100 Gbps across four 25 Gbps lanes, delivering a noticeable increase in performance. Its PCI Express 4.0 x8 interface enables real-time transfer of high-resolution image data to the host system.
This ensures maximum system throughput for bandwidth intensive applications such as inspection, scientific imaging, medical imaging and sports analysis applications. The board is also designed to be fully compliant with CoaXPress v3.0 when it becomes available later this year.
CoaXPress over Fiber allows high-speed image transfer and camera control over a single fiber-optic connection. Depending on the selected transceiver, cameras can be located multiple kilometers from the control PC, ideal for installations requiring long cable runs. Additionally, fiber optic transmission provides immunity to electromagnetic interference, maintaining reliable image data transfer in electrically noisy industrial environments.
Active Silicon’s proprietary ActiveDMA technology delivers extremely low-latency image transfers with zero CPU intervention. The board also provides comprehensive I/O (ActiveFlex-IO), up to 8GB buffer memory, full GenICam support and compatibility with ActiveSDK for Windows and Linux system development.
