The Harrier 30x AF-Zoom 3G-SDI Camera (Sony FCB-EV9520L) provides real-time 3G-SDI video with simultaneous analog video output. It offers 30x optical zoom and the STARVIS 2 CMOS sensor guarantees high-quality imaging even in low-light conditions.

Based on the Sony FCB-EV9520L, the improved successor of the popular EV7520/A series, the camera offers a range of advanced camera features and functions. Super Image Stabilizer, Spot Focus, Auto ICR, Wide Dynamic Range are some of the features that are available; see the product specs for more information.

The camera can be controlled using the VISCA protocol with TTL, RS-232 or RS-485 serial communications. DIP switch settings control the selection of serial communication protocol, HD-VLC output and camera video output mode on power-up. The Full HD video output up to 1080p60 is SMPTE 274M and SMPTE 296M compliant.

Overcoming long cable distances is also not a problem, as the camera provides HD-VLC™ output, a unique CODEC technology that ensures real-time superior image quality over long cable lengths.

Active Silicon is an approved partner of Sony and the FCB-EV9520L and other Sony EV-series cameras are compatible with all Harrier camera interface boards. In addition to 3G-SDI output solutions, we also offer USB or Ethernet IP video output.

Connector Specification Harrier 3G-SDI Camera Interface Board

KEL30 Connector (J1)

The interface board is fitted with a 30-way miniature connector to link to the video output connector on the camera.

Connector type: KEL USL00-30L.

Mating cable: A 30-way micro coaxial cable (AS-CIB-USL30-100MM) is supplied with the camera. Lengths available: KEL USL20-30SS-010-C (100mm length) or KEL USL20-30SS-005-C (50mm length).

Input/Output Connector (J2)

The interface board is fitted with an industry standard 4-way connector for Vsync/PWM signal output and test pattern/reset control inputs.

Connector type: JST SM04B-SRSS-TB

Mating cable: A suitable cable is available as part of the cable kit AS-CIB-CBLKIT-002-B (see ordering information).

See Harrier 3G-SDI Camera Interface Board datasheet for pin assignments and control options.

Power and Control Connector (J3)

The interface board is fitted with an industry standard 9-way connector for power, serial control and analog video out.

Connector type: JST SM09B-SRSS-TB

Mating cable: A suitable cable is available as part of the cable kit AS-CIB-CBLKIT-002-B (see ordering information).

See Harrier 3G-SDI Camera Interface Board datasheet for pin assignments and output options.

JTAG Connector (J4)

The interface board is fitted with a Hirose H.FL Micro Coaxial Connector (75 Ohm).

Connector type: Hirose Micro Coaxial Connector (Receptacle), part number H.FL-R-SMT(01).

Mating connector: Use mating cable with 75 Ohm characteristic impedance, for example Hirose part number H.FL75-2LP-084H-A-100. A suitable cable is available as part of the cable kit AS-CIB-CBLKIT-002-B (see ordering information).

Video and Control Mode DIP Switch (SW1)

The interface board is fitted with a 4-way DIP switch to select various video output and control modes.

The DIP switches to select the Video Format are read on power-up only. Therefore, to change mode using the DIP switches, power down the camera, set the switches and then power up the camera. DIP switches will only be effective for the operating modes supported by the camera currently in use.

See Harrier 3G-SDI Camera Interface Board datasheet for the configuration of the DIP switch SW1.

Communications Mode Selection (SW2)

The interface board is also fitted with a 2-way DIP switch to select the serial communications standard. It allows to choose between RS-232 VISCA communications, RS-485 VISCA comms with RS-485 termination enabled, RS-485 VISCA comms with RS-485 termination disabled and TTL VISCA communications.

See Harrier 3G-SDI Camera Interface Board datasheet for the details and configuration of the DIP switch SW2.
