The Harrier 30x AF-Zoom 3G-SDI Camera (Sony FCB-EV7520 or -EV7520A) offers 30x optical zoom and 12x digital zoom. It provides real-time 3G-SDI video output over a 75 Ohm (H.FL) micro-coax cable. Additionally, it features HD-VLC™ compressed video technology for long cable length applications and (when in SD modes) simultaneous analog output with square pixels. The camera offers SMPTE 274M and SMPTE 296M compliant video output up to 1080p60 Full HD.
Based on the Sony FCB-EV7520/EV-7520A camera with a back-illuminated CMOS sensor, the camera guarantees high-quality imaging even in low-light conditions. It builds upon the market leading specifications of Sony’s world-renowned FCB Series features including Advanced Noise Reduction, Auto ICR, Spherical Privacy Zone Masking and Wide Dynamic Range, which makes this camera solution suitable for a variety of demanding applications. The camera can be controlled using the VISCA protocol with TTL, RS-232 or RS-485 serial communications. DIP switch settings control the selection of serial communication protocol, HD-VLC output and camera video output mode on power-up.
The Sony FCB-EV7520 and FCB-EV7520A are also available with USB, HDMI or Ethernet IP video output, instead of 3G-SDI output.

Analog Video Out (Pin 3, J3) | Standard resolution composite analog is simultaneously available in HD modes 720p50 (for PAL) and 720p60/59.94 (for NTSC). There are two options for the analog output, selectable via serial control: (a) the 1280 pixel wide HD image can be cropped to 960 wide, by cropping a 120 pixel strip off each side to make a 4:3 aspect ratio Standard Definition (SD) signal. (b) by pre-warping the image, such that when displayed on a HD monitor in the monitor’s stretch-to-fit mode, the original full-width HD signal will be displayed correctly at 16:9 aspect ratio. Both methods ensure the displayed pixels remain square and that the image is not distorted. |

Video and Control Mode DIP Switch (SW1) | The interface board is fitted with a 4-way DIP switch to select various video output and control modes. The DIP switches to select the Video Format are read on power-up only. Therefore, to change mode using the DIP switches, power down the camera, set the switches and then power up the camera. DIP switches will only be effective for the operating modes supported by the camera currently in use. See Harrier 3G-SDI Camera Interface Board datasheet (download tab) for the configuration of the DIP switch SW1. |
Communications Mode Selection (SW2) | The interface board is also fitted with a 2-way DIP switch to select the serial communications standard.
